Centred on the three main theories advanced to explain the disaster – only one of which was given as the ‘official’ theory by the Flixborough Inquiry Report.    The ‘water theory’ (not considered by the inquiry) put forward by Dr Ralph King, is currently being investigated by the HSE after 25 years of effort by Dr King, now in his 80’s to get the theory taken seriously.
